Chevron Journal

Remember this post from last month?  Well, I left off these chevron shapes off the cards from the SU Paper Pumpkin kit and glued them on this canvas journal to make a trendy little gift for my sister-in-law.  I also used a button from the kit, too.  Supplies used: Noted backgrounds stamp (CTMH, retired) in slate ink, seriously stamp/dots/ink splatter stamps in outdoor denim ink from various SU Paper Pumpkin kits, red baker's twine (SU), canvas journal (CTMH).  Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday, Isaac!

This is a fun little card made from SU Paper Pumpkin from the September kit.  I tweaked the kit directions a bit and added the "celebrate you" line from CTMH's Party Pennants stamp set (retired).  I used the chevron pieces from the card kit on a journal--will have to post that soon :)  We have been neck deep in Disney vacationing and party planning for our five year old, Isaac, so sorry I have been MIA for a few weeks!  Fun times!  God bless!

April's SU Paper Pumpkin Kit

Here's my latest SU paper pumpkin kit project!  I was able to score one at a discount online since I hadn't signed up in time to receive it with my monthly subscription.  This was actually the kit from April and I have been eyeing it all summer long!  I LOVE the "seriously" stamp, and got a kick out of the sentiments "you kick booty" and "love your guts."  I love how it is edgy and fresh and definately NOT from your grandmother's stamp collection!  The kit came with the cardbases, paper, green arrow and word bubble stickers, hemp, large metal buttons, and cherry cobbler ink.  My son got all in my project this go around--he was so tickled by the "you kick booty" sentiment and just had to make his own card using the kit's supplies to make a card for his Aunt Beka.  Too cute!  He did a great job and I just tied his bow and button on for him.  Hope you have a "seriously" creative day, my friend, and thanks for stopping by!

August's SU Paper Pumpkin Card Kit

Hello friend!  Back today to share with you the cards I made from this month's SU Paper Pumpkin kit.  The kit came with this banner thank you so much stamp, the bicycle stamp, pennant and strip stickers, and also baked brown sugar ink (a new color for them this year; sentiment) and bermuda bay ink (bicycle).  The card above is the way the kit had you design the card.  I made a few horizontal ones using the same sentiment, too (not pictured).  Below, I got a little creative by using one of their past sentiments, from their June paper pumpkin kit here.  I like it because it is a little bigger and graphically fresh.  Which do you like better?

June Paper Pumpkin Kit

 I was super excited to score this Paper Pumpkin kit the other day--got it at a discount online since it was the month I received the welcome kit.  It has one of my favorite design elements right now...hexagons!  I think the little hexagon cut outs are super cute, too--they create little windows for the stamped hearts to peek through!  As you can see below, the suggested card design was horizontal--I made a few of these, then flipped the design to make a vertical one.

 

I was even feeling generous and shared one card from my kit with my four-year old son.  He made his and wrote in it to send it to Grandma.  So cute!

Polaroid Cards

What to do with project leftovers?  Make cards of course!  These cards were made from my minibook project leftovers--check out this post if you missed it.  These little polaroid photo frames shout "scrapbook"...but do they?  They don't HAVE to be used for photos--they are perfect to frame up a stamped sentiment for a card front instead!  Perfect!  I used scraps from my stash, some leftover word stickers (from same project), hung up cute clips (SU), washi tape (Epic Day, SU), and red baker's twine.  Stamps used: Hey there friend and ink splatter stamps (SU paper pumpkin welcome kit), You make my world go round (CTMH, Pinwheel stamp set), all stamped in black ink. July Paper Pumpkin Kit

 Back again today to share with you my SU paper pumpkin project from July's kit.  I received it in my mailbox yesterday--yippee!  This kit was a party pennant kit, intended to make banners and signs with wooden skewers for cake toppers and such. 

Instead, I modified it to make three cards--two birthday and a baby boy card--check it out!

 The kit colors are really fun--summer starfruit, pool party, and island indigo--love this funky combo!  I simply paired the kit pieces with some pool party and island indigo cardstock for my cards.  The only other thing I added was a bit of lagoon baker's twine (CTMH) on the baby boy card (since I ran out of the twine included in the kit) and a bit of Tea for Two patterned paper (chevron arrow on boy card).  I also stamped the island indigo letters with the Trinity alphabet stamp set (CTMH).  The background stamps and pool party and summer starfruit inks all came with the kit.

3-D pop dots were used to give some of the banners and letters a little lift!  I like how these turned out and how versatile the paper pumpkin kits can be!

The Good Life Minibook

I was sooo thrilled to receive a sweet surprise in the mail this week, complements of my sweet Stampin' Up demonstrator Heather Howe--thank you, Heather!  As I've mentioned before, I am now a member of the SU's Paper Pumpkin Patch, where you receive fun monthly surprise papercrafting kits.  Well, when you join, you receive a welcome kit and then the following month you receive that month's kit.  This minibook (brag book) was the May Kit and I signed on a bit too late to receive it...but Heather surprised me with it since she had an extra one from another customer.  Fun!

 

I had a blast with this very "on trend" little minibook kit--it came with two stamps (the good life, and the love this arrow), black ink, 2 chipboard covers and rings, patterned papers (some pre-cut for pages, others larger for cutting and using in the album), buttons, arrow clips, and all the sticker embellishments and photo mats.  The only thing I added was a few pieces of washi tape from SU's Epic Day collection and the outdoor denim chevron ribbon on the rings (CTMH).

This was a super fun way to try out some new patterns and products--and there was a TON of stickers left over, which I plan to put into my Project Life family album, along with using the stamps on other projects.  Have a great and creative weekend, my friend!

Jots and Thoughts Journal

Just wanted to show you this cute and easy kraft journal I made using the My Paper Pumpkin trial kit from Stampin Up.  The kit includes all you need to make TWO of these adorable little grid-lined journals.  I plan on keeping one and giving the other to a friend.  Love the stamped sentiment it comes with, too!  Be sure to click on the picture for a more detailed view--you'll notice two of the three butterflies have chevron patterns--LOVE!

Hey There Friend Cards

 I recently joined Stampin Up's My Paper Pumpkin--it delievers a fun 30 minute surprise papercrafting project to your door each month (sort of like Cinderella's pumpkin...it takes you away for a creative escape...). 
These cards were made using the welcome kit I received in June--it had stamps, a clear block, ink (basic grey), cardstock, cardbases, embellishments, and stickers to make four friendship cards.  Now, that said, none of the cards you see here are EXACTLY like the instructions included in the kit.  For some reason, I felt the cards HAD to have a POP of RED, so I added my own little red flowers and butterflies (CTMH).  And for two of them, I added some yellow cardstock and even cut the patterned paper in two for the center card.  It was fun to play around with it all. 

Why isn't the fourth card pictured? It got sent out to a friend before the "photo shoot" LOL!
