June Paper Pumpkin Kit

I was super excited to score this Paper Pumpkin kit the other day--got it at a discount online since it was the month I received the welcome kit.  It has one of my favorite design elements right now...hexagons!  I think the little hexagon cut outs are super cute, too--they create little windows for the stamped hearts to peek through!  As you can see below, the suggested card design was horizontal--I made a few of these, then flipped the design to make a vertical one.

I was even feeling generous and shared one card from my kit with my four-year old son.  He made his and wrote in it to send it to Grandma.  So cute!

Hope you have a creative weekend, my friend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Crafting the Blues

Okay, this post closes out this series of cards using cute clips, hexagons, washi tape, and pennant banners!  I've had a fun time using up my scraps and creating some "happy mail" for friends that is a bit trendy and "with it" ha ha!  These cards highlight a BLUE color palette, using pacificia blue (CTMH) and black.

Just got back from vacation and am excited to scrap some cherished memories and play around with some new paper packs--CTMH's new fall catalog just went LIVE and Stampin Up's Paper Pumpkin monthly kit is set to ship in a few days! Woohoo! Enjoy these last little beauties and I will be back with some fresh artwork next week!

Hello Hexagons

Back today with another trendy look--hexagons!  Love this polka-dot look with the hexagon shapes--sort of a visually geometric smorgisboard!  Added some striped washi tape (SU, Epic Day collection) and another cute clip (below).  Stamped sentiment is in slate ink (CTMH) using a wood-mount bargain stamp from Michaels.  Easy peasy! (note: hexagon punch is from CM...and SU has one now too!)

Tea for Two Flower Card

Just a really simple card today featuring the beautiful patterned paper of the Tea for Two paper pack from SU.  Love this quilted hexagon look!  I just inked up the edges of all the paper pieces with chocolate ink (CTMH), and then made a flower embellishment using the Blossom and Modern Label punches from SU and attached it with a coordinating Calypso Coral brad (SU).  I just used this for a quick note to a friend--no sentiment required!

Have a creative day and thanks for stopping by!

Hexagon Friendship Card

I don't know about you, but I am really enjoying the new hexagon craze in the design/crafting world!  For my birthday (back in February) I received this hexagon punch from Creative Memories--I am in LOVE!  It is one of those positionable punches that can be placed anywhere on the page, so it is nice to use it both for the punched shapes AND for the negative space it can create for a card front, for example.

Here's an upclose picture of the card (feel free to click on it to make it even larger and to see it in more detail)...

I used the Tea for Two paper pack from Stampin Up that features all sorts of quilt patterns--LOVE pairing this paper pack with the hexagon punch, since hexagons are a popular shape used in quilt making.  I popped up the middle coral hexagon with foam tape (on top of another coral hexagon) for a bit of extra dimension.  I stamped the sentiment "I'm Celebrating Today" from the Because of You stamp set (CTMH, retired) in Calypso Coral ink (SU)--inside reads "because you are my friend."  This makes a great birthday card or just a "thinking of you" type card.

Another favorite of mine--burlap!  So I decided to feature this card next to my farmhouse-style flower arrangement on the back porch :)

Have a creative day and thanks for stopping by!
