Chevron Canvas Journal

Hello and welcome back!  I am excited to share with you two of my FAVORITE things in ONE...journals and chevron, haha!  I stamped this canvas journal from CTMH using their Charming Chevron stamp set in slate, lagoon, outdoor denim, and smoothe ink.  I then added sparkle chevron shapes (also CTMH) to a few of the chevron designs to add some BLING and interest!

Sentiment is from the He Said, She Said stamp set (CTMH, retired) stamped in Smoothie and Slate ink.  Can't wait to crack it open and start writing my thoughts...I am really cranking out the journals these days as my children are growing so fast and we are anticipating a move soon!!  Hope you have a creative day, my friend, and thanks for stopping by!

Babycakes Card Box and Notebook

Hello, my friend!  I have a few new projects to post...most recently this adorable little gift set that I made with the Babycakes CTMH paper packet.  It is really a baby-themed paper pack, but has a wonderfully neutral color palette with gray and brown and a bit of yellow and orange (trendy, too) that makes great year-round gifts and home decor projects!  For this project, I used the CTMH card box and covered it with the polka dot pattern from the Babycakes paper packet.

 I added sunset baker's twine (CTMH), Cork letters (CTMH clearance), and punched a monarch butterfly (Martha Stewart) which I popped up with glue dots and blinged up with some bitty adhesive gems (CTMH).

 Then, I covered this kraft notebook (Walmart) with the polka dot paper, twine and cork letters, too, and placed it inside the box.

 Here's a few detail shots of the butterfly, showing you some of the dimension of the butterfly wings and how intricate the punch is....just beautiful!

This little gift set will go to a friend and Bible study leader of mine who is battling cancer.  I have been encouraging her with cards throughout her journey, and now she will have a special place to put all the cards she receives from myself and others!  In addition, she can keep a gratitude journal or just log the items for which she needs to thank others for since I know the body of Christ has been ministering to her and her family's needs during this difficult trial.  I hope this gift set puts a smile on her face and encourages her in the home stretch of her chemo treatments!

Butterfly Journal

Back again with another canvas journal--I think I mentioned that I scored these for a mere $2.25 from CTMH's clearance website a few weeks ago!  I bought some teal spray ink and a mask at Michaels from Heidi Swapp, and then bought some adhesive gem flourishes.  The end result was this and it took 5 minutes at MOST!  Plan to tuck this away for a teacher gift.  Thanks for stopping by today--have a creative day!

Chevron Journal

Remember this post from last month?  Well, I left off these chevron shapes off the cards from the SU Paper Pumpkin kit and glued them on this canvas journal to make a trendy little gift for my sister-in-law.  I also used a button from the kit, too.  Supplies used: Noted backgrounds stamp (CTMH, retired) in slate ink, seriously stamp/dots/ink splatter stamps in outdoor denim ink from various SU Paper Pumpkin kits, red baker's twine (SU), canvas journal (CTMH).  Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Fall Gratitude Journals

Back again with some more fun fall artwork!  I stamped these canvas journals from CTMH--they were a steal at $2.25 on their clearance website!!  I snatched up half a dozen or so of these and made these 3 gratitude journals for a Fall-i-day party I was recently invited to.  The party was so fun!  Basically, everyone was asked to bring 3 fall items that represented what they love about fall (for $5 or less).  Then, we each gave a short presentation of why we brought what we brought, and then drew 3 names out of a pail and those ladies received the gifts.  So...you brought 3 fall items and left with 3 different fall items!  Fun!  I was super excited to receive a Starbuck's gift card as one of my gifts...Pumpkin Spice Latte here I come!!  But I digress... :)  I, of course, had to bring something crafty and I personally journal a ton, so these was a perfect gift from me, and with the clearance price tag (even with shipping) they fit the bill!

I stamped these with a retired CTMH stamp called Autumn Splendor using the "rock and roll" stamping technique with Barn Red, goldrush, olive, and chocolate inks (CTMH).  Then I cut CTMH's burlap ribbon lengthwise and wrapped it around the front cover, tying it in a knot.  For the tag, I stamped the sentiment from the Always Grateful stamp set from CTMH (love this set!) on colonial white cardstock and then backed it on a olive cardstock tag shape.  I adhered the tag to the cover with glue dots and then added a round durable stud for the tag's "hole". 
Inside I stamped another sentiment from the Always Grateful stamp set...

You can tell I love these colors--look at the journal on my bedspread!  I live in these colors all year round :)

Jots and Thoughts Journal

Just wanted to show you this cute and easy kraft journal I made using the My Paper Pumpkin trial kit from Stampin Up.  The kit includes all you need to make TWO of these adorable little grid-lined journals.  I plan on keeping one and giving the other to a friend.  Love the stamped sentiment it comes with, too!  Be sure to click on the picture for a more detailed view--you'll notice two of the three butterflies have chevron patterns--LOVE!

Embellished Journals

Howdy there!  Just wanted to share with you a very QUICK and EASY project you can do to make these adorable embellished journals for yourself or for a gift.  Basically, I found these journals in packs of three at Michaels in their discount aisle.  They had patterened covers--some were just monochromatic, and others had detailed designs like the map and butterfly image above.  I then headed over to the scrapbook embellishment aisles and picked out some metal accents (keys, locks), and some rhinestone flourish stickers (amber colored).  Then, I simply either atttached the rhinestone flourish sticker (butterfly journal) or tied some hemp around the cover and attached the metal key and then stuck on the metal lock (map journal).  Voila!  Easy peasy cute and clever journals for your purse or for a quick gift or stocking stuffer!  Who doesn't love a cute place to jot down their thoughts or lists?

Canvas Journal

I am super CRAZY for journals!  They make me super happy--to see in my night stand, to use in daily life.  I love to journal my thoughts, prayers, jot down little bits of life, record sermon notes...you name it.  This is a journal I stamped using a blank canvas journal from CTMH.  I'll admit, it was weird and a bit scary to stamp on something so...permanent...but I love how it turned out!  I used the Universal Backgrounds stamp set for the text background (CTMH) and the Love Blooms stamp set (CTMH) for the flowers and sentiment "The story of today"--this sentiment is just PERFECT for a journal project!  Love how the pages are lined inside and it comes with a ribbon bookmark attached.  The spine and back (not shown) are just stamped with the text stamp.  Inks used: Cocoa, Creme Brulee, Twilight and Smokey Plum, Gray Flannel (text) and Olive (I did go over the sentiment with a Cocoa marker to make it really pop)

Our Story Journal

This was a fun journal to create and easy, too.  The journal is from CTMH is is unfortunately retired now, but I was able to score several from the clearance section of their website and from a few consultants.  I like it because it has a clear 5x7 pocket on the front, so you can easily slip in your artwork.  The inside pages are unlined, so you can use it as a journal, album, or smashbook.  The spine is also fun to decorate using various ribbon scraps, like I did here.  For the paper and embellishments, I used Creative Memories latest product line called Enchantment.  This was a very fun paper pack to use and I was super impressed with the quality of the paper flowers that came in the set.  The aqua scallop border along the right side is actually a sticker border and the title is also a sticker.  I gave this journal to a dear friend of mine who is expecting her 4th child while her husband is away on deployment--what a story she has to tell this year!
