Babycakes Framed Layout

Back again with another baby-themed project for you!  If you missed my post about baby cards, check it out here.  This layout uses the same color palette and patterned paper packet...Babycakes from CTMH...as the baby cards.  Love the grays and yellows with this one--very "on trend."  I used chocolate cardstock for the page, and then used various patterned papers and zip strips from the paper packet to compose the page. Then, I used butterfly punched embellishments (Martha Stewart) decorated with some bitty sparkles (CTMH) along the butterfly body and popped them up with glue dots.  Lastly, colonial white cardstock makes for a great photo mat.  I placed this layout in a black metal 12 x 12 scrapbook frame (Michaels) and gave it to a friend who just welcomed her 3rd baby!  Congrats Anna!  It will be a great keepsake for her to use with her favorite baby picture.  Scrapbooking and cardmaking is a GREAT way to give memorable and affordable gifts!  Try your hand at it next time you need to give a gift from the heart!  Blessings!

Babycakes Baby Cards

Welcome back, friends!  Today I am sharing with you some baby-themed cards I created using the CTMH's paper packet Babycakes.  It makes for very "on trend" cards with the yellow and gray color palette and works perfectly for baby boys AND baby girls!  Above you will see a group shot, and throughout the blog post, you can see each card closer and in more detail, especially if you click on each photo and scroll through the gallery!
In addition to the papers, I used colonial white card bases (CTMH), the gorgeous monarch butterfly punch by Martha Stewart embellished with bitty sparkles (CTMH), the modern label punch (SU), and sunset ink (CTMH)
I added some sunset baker's twine (CTMH) to this card (above) and stamped with Short and Sweet stamp set (SU) for the sentiment and the cute little diaper pin.  I also stamped a few lines in chocolate ink (CTMH) on the card below.
This card uses a congrats stamp I found in a dollar bin at Michael's...

A few more beauties...
Colors used: Slate gray, sunset orange, buttercup yellow, chocolate brown
Some of these card patterns came from the Make it From Your Heart vol. 2 idea book (CTMH)--I love this book because it is super affordable (less than $8) and is jam packed with double-page layouts, single page layouts, and tons of card patterns which are super easy to follow!  Hope you enjoyed today's posting...and perhaps got your baby fix like I did :)  Have a creative one and I'll see you here again soon!

Hanger Clip Cards

Back again with another set of cards using SU's Hung Up Cute Clips collection (say that five times fast!).  This collection includes these adorable hanger paper clips.  My first thought when I saw these hanger clips were baby cards--I remember how fun it was to buy these small little hangers for all of my infant's onsies!  But then I also thought I'd use the pun and make up a get-well card--this card below is going to a friend of mine battling cancer.
It uses the small Trinity alphabet stamp set (CTMH) stamped in Slate ink on white daisy cardstock cut into pennants--sweet leaf patterned paper is from the Olivia collection (CTMH, retired).
Here's a baby card using the Tea for Two chevron paper (SU), some sheer ruffle ribbon (Michaels), chocolate cardstock, and the Short and Sweet stamp set (SU) with chocolate ink for the sentiment and diaper pin.
And here's one more modern-style baby card, using SU's washi tape from the Epic Day collection, blue and black scraps from the Fanfare paper pack (CTMH, retired), red bakers twine (SU), and some left over stickers (including that great poloroid frame) from the July paper pumpkin kit (SU).  Sentiment is stamped in black ink with the Short and Sweet stamp set (SU).
Hope you have a creative day, my friend--thanks for stopping by!

"Monogram" Baby Cards

Hello there!  Today I wanted to post a few baby cards I made awhile back, in honor of a dear friend of mine who is being induced tomorrow with her fourth baby!  I call these "monogram" baby cards, but the reason for the quotes is that they are truly not a monogram, as in the child's initials, but instead simply feature a large letter (from the sentiment) on the card.  This is a great way to use up random chipboard letters or letter stickers you might have floating around in your craft stash!

For this first card, you'll see that I feature a large green letter "B", to pick up from the sentiment "oh baby!"  This was for a little boy, so I stamped in blue and used blue patterned paper (Becky Higgins baby kit paper, retired; stamp Michaels)

This next card features the letter "C" from the "cherish" sentiment--this time for a little girl.
(Becky Higgins baby kit paper, retired; stamp A.C. Moore, blush ink CTMH)

Well, I am off to stay with my friend in the hospital!  Hope you have a creative day and thanks for checking in!

Nursery Decor

Welcome back!  Just wanted to show you a great way to use up chipboard letters or letter stickers that might be lingering around in your craft stash!  I put this picture together just days before our third little one arrived on the scene.  I didn't know if it was a girl or a boy, so I made this picture that would be fairly gender neutral.  I freely placed letters to form the words of the saying on white cardstock.  After I was done, I trimmed the cardstock into a tight square.  Any extra spaces got a few embellishments--punched out stars, a jute bow, or a handdrawn and cut out moon shape.  I then adhered the cardstock into patterned paper (CTMH, Perfect Day paper pack) and used a black marker and a ruler to draw a border around it.  I framed it in a black metal scrapbook page frame from Michael's.  It turned out super cute and was super inexpensive to make for the nursery!
