Babycakes Baby Cards

Welcome back, friends!  Today I am sharing with you some baby-themed cards I created using the CTMH's paper packet Babycakes.  It makes for very "on trend" cards with the yellow and gray color palette and works perfectly for baby boys AND baby girls!  Above you will see a group shot, and throughout the blog post, you can see each card closer and in more detail, especially if you click on each photo and scroll through the gallery!
In addition to the papers, I used colonial white card bases (CTMH), the gorgeous monarch butterfly punch by Martha Stewart embellished with bitty sparkles (CTMH), the modern label punch (SU), and sunset ink (CTMH)
I added some sunset baker's twine (CTMH) to this card (above) and stamped with Short and Sweet stamp set (SU) for the sentiment and the cute little diaper pin.  I also stamped a few lines in chocolate ink (CTMH) on the card below.
This card uses a congrats stamp I found in a dollar bin at Michael's...

A few more beauties...
Colors used: Slate gray, sunset orange, buttercup yellow, chocolate brown
Some of these card patterns came from the Make it From Your Heart vol. 2 idea book (CTMH)--I love this book because it is super affordable (less than $8) and is jam packed with double-page layouts, single page layouts, and tons of card patterns which are super easy to follow!  Hope you enjoyed today's posting...and perhaps got your baby fix like I did :)  Have a creative one and I'll see you here again soon!

Cloud Nine Cards

I am on Cloud Nine!  I just had the opportunity to play with this new cardmaking kit from CTMH as part of their January National Papercrafting Month Promotion.  What fun!  It has a lot of little "sneak peek" products that will be debuting in their new catalog next month, such as the gold polka dot washi tape, triangle studs, and teal shimmer trim (I am in LOVE with these new products), as well as super fun patterned paper unique to this kit and a unique stamp set!  I also love how the kit came with diecut shapes that are sized to fit the stamped sentiments, and there were plenty of extras included for more projects.  The kit made a total of 10 cards, 2 each of 5 designs.  Here are a few closer up--feel free to click on the image to see it larger and in more detail...

The colors used are sunset and lagoon inks, and honey and lagoon cardstock.  In just about 90 minutes, the entire kit was assembled and ready to go!  I've already popped a few of these beauties in the mail, so I figured I'd better take pictures and post them on my blog quickly before they ALL go out the door!  Hope you enjoyed this bit of colorful inspiration today--hope you have a creative one!

Babycakes Card Box and Notebook

Hello, my friend!  I have a few new projects to post...most recently this adorable little gift set that I made with the Babycakes CTMH paper packet.  It is really a baby-themed paper pack, but has a wonderfully neutral color palette with gray and brown and a bit of yellow and orange (trendy, too) that makes great year-round gifts and home decor projects!  For this project, I used the CTMH card box and covered it with the polka dot pattern from the Babycakes paper packet.

I added sunset baker's twine (CTMH), Cork letters (CTMH clearance), and punched a monarch butterfly (Martha Stewart) which I popped up with glue dots and blinged up with some bitty adhesive gems (CTMH).
Then, I covered this kraft notebook (Walmart) with the polka dot paper, twine and cork letters, too, and placed it inside the box.

Here's a few detail shots of the butterfly, showing you some of the dimension of the butterfly wings and how intricate the punch is....just beautiful!
This little gift set will go to a friend and Bible study leader of mine who is battling cancer.  I have been encouraging her with cards throughout her journey, and now she will have a special place to put all the cards she receives from myself and others!  In addition, she can keep a gratitude journal or just log the items for which she needs to thank others for since I know the body of Christ has been ministering to her and her family's needs during this difficult trial.  I hope this gift set puts a smile on her face and encourages her in the home stretch of her chemo treatments!

Verse of the Week Chalkboard

Welcome back and Happy New Year!  I hope you enjoyed some time off and some R & R!  Just wanted to post this super cute vintage-inspired project I found at my local Kirklands Store.  It is this "Verse of the Week" chalkboard that I intend to use with my children for Scripture memory verses each week.  I simply strung it up with black striped grosgrain ribbon (CTMH), added some poster puddy behind the lower corners so it wouldn't swing (it is on a frequently used door to our laundry room) and voila--a perfectly pinnable little home decor piece!  Hope you enjoyed this little bit of inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by!
