Washi Tape Cards

Okay, really digging the whole pennant banner/washi tape look, so bear with me!  Here's a great card idea to use up scrap paper--add some washi tape, a few cute clips (these are the word bubbles from SU's hung up collection), and then a stamped sentiment (these are wood-mounted sentiments from a Michael's dollar bin) in slate ink (CTMH)--and you've got some instant trendy "happy mail."  SO fun!  Where will YOUR scraps take you this week?  Have a creative one, my friend!

Polaroid Cards

What to do with project leftovers?  Make cards of course!  These cards were made from my minibook project leftovers--check out this post if you missed it.  These little polaroid photo frames shout "scrapbook"...but do they?  They don't HAVE to be used for photos--they are perfect to frame up a stamped sentiment for a card front instead!  Perfect!  I used scraps from my stash, some leftover word stickers (from same project), hung up cute clips (SU), washi tape (Epic Day, SU), and red baker's twine.  Stamps used: Hey there friend and ink splatter stamps (SU paper pumpkin welcome kit), You make my world go round (CTMH, Pinwheel stamp set), all stamped in black ink. Hope you have a creative day, my friend--thanks for stopping by!

Hanger Clip Cards

Back again with another set of cards using SU's Hung Up Cute Clips collection (say that five times fast!).  This collection includes these adorable hanger paper clips.  My first thought when I saw these hanger clips were baby cards--I remember how fun it was to buy these small little hangers for all of my infant's onsies!  But then I also thought I'd use the pun and make up a get-well card--this card below is going to a friend of mine battling cancer.
It uses the small Trinity alphabet stamp set (CTMH) stamped in Slate ink on white daisy cardstock cut into pennants--sweet leaf patterned paper is from the Olivia collection (CTMH, retired).
Here's a baby card using the Tea for Two chevron paper (SU), some sheer ruffle ribbon (Michaels), chocolate cardstock, and the Short and Sweet stamp set (SU) with chocolate ink for the sentiment and diaper pin.
And here's one more modern-style baby card, using SU's washi tape from the Epic Day collection, blue and black scraps from the Fanfare paper pack (CTMH, retired), red bakers twine (SU), and some left over stickers (including that great poloroid frame) from the July paper pumpkin kit (SU).  Sentiment is stamped in black ink with the Short and Sweet stamp set (SU).
Hope you have a creative day, my friend--thanks for stopping by!

Arrow Clip Cards

I cannot tell you how fun and addicting these little shaped paper clips are by Stampin Up!  You will see a LOT of these babies in the cards I will share with you over the next two weeks! They are called Cute Clips from the Hung Up collection and are in the current catalog--the embellishment collection includes a coat hanger, arrow, and word bubble shapes (8 of each design).  I have been using them to make friendship, get well, baby, and thank you cards.

For these cards, I used the arrow cute clip--fun!  I basically used left over scraps of different sizes from my stash, along with some washi tape from the SU Epic Day collection.  Ink color is lagoon (CTMH) for the sentiments, both of which are wood-mount stamps from Michaels.  I also used a woodgrain background stamp from CTMH's Universal Background stamp set in Slate ink, which I stamped on pear cardstock for the pennant (other supplies: lagoon patterened paper from CTMH's Later Sk8tr collection; chevron pattern is from Tea for Two paper pack from SU; white daisy card bases from CTMH)

See you soon with some more cute clip cards!

Nautical Anniversary Card

Wanted to share with you this anniversary card that I made with the very versatile paper packet, Tommy, from CTMH.  This stamped sentiment was a part of the Tommy Workshop on the Go stamp set--love it!  I paired it with the anchor patterned paper and a bit of the outdoor denim chevron ribbon.  I learned how to make the tailored bow off of Pinterest--love how classy it looks and how flat it is, for mailing sake!
Another shot next to my beloved patriotic "God Bless" Scentsy warmer!
Have a creative one, my friend--thanks for stopping by!

Tea for Two Deepest Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are never fun to send out--today, I mailed out five of these cards to comfort some close family members as we grieve the loss of our beloved Uncle Ellsworth, who died this morning after a 16-month battle with brain cancer.  This is a sad time for so many of us, and yet, a wonderful time as we know he went home to be with the Lord and is enjoying Paradise with his Heavenly Father.  In my mind, nothing says "comfort" more than a quilt, so I used the Tea for Two paper pack from SU, for these cards.  I also used the blossom punch (SU), scalloped circle punch (Marvy), a yellow assorted button, and creme brulee baker's twine (CTMH).  The sentiment is from CTMH's Card Chatter Sympathy stamp set using chocolate ink.  We love you and will miss you, Uncle Ells!

July Paper Pumpkin Kit

Back again today to share with you my SU paper pumpkin project from July's kit.  I received it in my mailbox yesterday--yippee!  This kit was a party pennant kit, intended to make banners and signs with wooden skewers for cake toppers and such.
Instead, I modified it to make three cards--two birthday and a baby boy card--check it out!
The kit colors are really fun--summer starfruit, pool party, and island indigo--love this funky combo!  I simply paired the kit pieces with some pool party and island indigo cardstock for my cards.  The only other thing I added was a bit of lagoon baker's twine (CTMH) on the baby boy card (since I ran out of the twine included in the kit) and a bit of Tea for Two patterned paper (chevron arrow on boy card).  I also stamped the island indigo letters with the Trinity alphabet stamp set (CTMH).  The background stamps and pool party and summer starfruit inks all came with the kit.
3-D pop dots were used to give some of the banners and letters a little lift!  I like how these turned out and how versatile the paper pumpkin kits can be!

Nautical Cards

Back again today with a few more nautical themed cards using the Tommy paper pack from CTMH with no stamping required!
I used up some paper scraps to cover the cardbases, added a bit of Outdoor denium chevron ribbon (CTMH) and then popped up some shapes from the Tommy canvas complement stickers (on 3D foam tape) to use as my focal point. Easy peasy!
It has been fun to see in what ways I can put these cards to good use.  I have made nautical themed baby cards (for baby boys) and also as "welcome" cards for our Sunday school class visitors, sort of as a "welcome aboard" theme!  I'll be back again tomorrow to show you an anniversary card made with the nautical theme, too!  Until then, have a creative one!

Tommy Picture Frames

Greetings!  Hope your summer is well underway and you are enjoying it!  I have been enjoying a bit of summer with the Tommy paper pack (CTMH)--you can check out my patriotic card projects which use this paper packet here--but for these frames I used the paper for it's nautical theme.  These picture frames will be given to my family when we meet up with everyone at the beach next week!  I love how they are all similiar, yet a bit different, as they use different papers and colors.

Each features a rosette with a little bit of interest in the middle from the Tommy assortment or the canvas complement stickers.  Love that little pennant flag!
And a little bit of Outdoor Denim chevron ribbon finishes these two out...LOVE!
Hope you can enjoy some water fun this summer where you are!  Thanks for stopping in!

The Good Life Minibook

I was sooo thrilled to receive a sweet surprise in the mail this week, complements of my sweet Stampin' Up demonstrator Heather Howe--thank you, Heather!  As I've mentioned before, I am now a member of the SU's Paper Pumpkin Patch, where you receive fun monthly surprise papercrafting kits.  Well, when you join, you receive a welcome kit and then the following month you receive that month's kit.  This minibook (brag book) was the May Kit and I signed on a bit too late to receive it...but Heather surprised me with it since she had an extra one from another customer.  Fun!

I had a blast with this very "on trend" little minibook kit--it came with two stamps (the good life, and the love this arrow), black ink, 2 chipboard covers and rings, patterned papers (some pre-cut for pages, others larger for cutting and using in the album), buttons, arrow clips, and all the sticker embellishments and photo mats.  The only thing I added was a few pieces of washi tape from SU's Epic Day collection and the outdoor denim chevron ribbon on the rings (CTMH).

Here's a tour inside the book, which highlights some of our special family memories from this year.  As always, feel free to click on the image to see it larger and in more detail...

Here's a few more individual page shots...

(features the love this arrow stamp)
(features the good life stamp)
This was a super fun way to try out some new patterns and products--and there was a TON of stickers left over, which I plan to put into my Project Life family album, along with using the stamps on other projects.  Have a great and creative weekend, my friend!

Let It Shine Card

Hello there!  I have been crafting with the nautical-themed paper pack, Tommy (CTMH), recently and the canvas complements that pair along with it.  I made this card using the fun and trendy chevron ribbon (CTMH) in Outdoor Denim.  I popped up one of the canvas shapes on 3D foam tape for a focal point and sentiment.  This card was mailed out to a dear college friend of mine and sister in Christ who is in full-time ministry.  Hope you have a creative day today--thanks for popping in :)

Jots and Thoughts Journal

Just wanted to show you this cute and easy kraft journal I made using the My Paper Pumpkin trial kit from Stampin Up.  The kit includes all you need to make TWO of these adorable little grid-lined journals.  I plan on keeping one and giving the other to a friend.  Love the stamped sentiment it comes with, too!  Be sure to click on the picture for a more detailed view--you'll notice two of the three butterflies have chevron patterns--LOVE!
Hope you have a creative day today and thanks for stopping by!

Hey There Friend Cards

I recently joined Stampin Up's My Paper Pumpkin--it delievers a fun 30 minute surprise papercrafting project to your door each month (sort of like Cinderella's pumpkin...it takes you away for a creative escape...).
These cards were made using the welcome kit I received in June--it had stamps, a clear block, ink (basic grey), cardstock, cardbases, embellishments, and stickers to make four friendship cards.  Now, that said, none of the cards you see here are EXACTLY like the instructions included in the kit.  For some reason, I felt the cards HAD to have a POP of RED, so I added my own little red flowers and butterflies (CTMH).  And for two of them, I added some yellow cardstock and even cut the patterned paper in two for the center card.  It was fun to play around with it all.

Why isn't the fourth card pictured? It got sent out to a friend before the "photo shoot" LOL!
Can't wait to see what July's kit will be!  Have a creative day, my friend, and thanks for stopping by!

Pinwheel July 4th Card

Here's another Fourth of July card using CTMH's Tommy paper pack and their matching canvas complement stickers.  Love this nautical-themed paper that can do double-duty, patriotic style!  In addition to the pinwheel canvas stickers, I adhered chipboard stars to the card front, which I had rubbed in Riding Hood Red ink and then covered with glitz glitter gel for a bit of sparkle!  Sentiment stamp is from Michaels (brand unknown).  Hope you have a wonderful holiday!  God Bless America!
