Later Sk8r Cards

I have made SO many layouts with this fun, boyish paper pack, Later Sk8r from CTMH.  Love the Lagoon and Pear color scheme it uses!  I decided to use up the leftover scraps and make a few birthday cards--we are hit up big time in May and June with masculine birthdays in my family, so it is nice to have a few cards on hand this time of year!  Some of our men LOVE airplanes, so this was a natural image to pair with this paper pack for me.  I also used some screw head brads from my stash (Michaels) to give it a masculine flair.

The "Awesome" card uses words from the Later Sk8r paper pack's zipstrip, while the airplane card uses an airplane image from PTI colored in with a clover colored pencil (CTMH).

Finally, the "Celebrate YOU" card uses some leftover banners from my canvas WOTG project (see previous post) with some hemp and screw head brads (CTMH stamps used: Card Chatter Birthday and Trinity Alphabet)

What are your crafting plans for the men in your life?  Father's Day is not TOO far away... :)

Canvas Wall Art

Back again today with another home decor item from CTMH--this is their WOTG Canvas Wall Art kit and it is adorable and super fun and easy to make.   The kit came with lots of embellishing options in both a red and blue color scheme (which I mixed as you can see), so everything that I didn't use here got used in a scrapbook layout, which was handy!  The kit also came with a suggested design, but it was for a horizontal 5x7 print, so I basically just went with my instinct since I had a vertical picture I wanted to use.  I really like how it turned out!  I especially love the very subtle chevron pattern on the actual canvas--that adds a nice modern (but not overpowering) touch.  These are my three kids posing before our neighborhood Easter egg hunt.  Fun memories!  (click picture to show more detail)

Claire Hinged Display Tray

I just finished this adorable kit from Lisa Stenz.  It uses CTMH's hinged display tray and the Claire papers and complements.  I sort of combined a few of Lisa's suggestions to make some feminine squares and other more masculine squares since I was showcasing all three of my children.  Just love how it turned out!

Love the little accordion pinwheel accent and the "play" banner

Sorry this last image was a bit blurry, but I hope you get the idea!  This is now proudly displayed in our family room area to enjoy everyday!

I'm Back!

So, so sorry to have been MIA for the past 2 months!  Life got...well, hectic, but in a good way!  I have been busy being the Creative Director for my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group at church, as well as co-leading a women's Bible Study at church.  I am about to go to the last Bible study of our session this morning, in fact, and just completed our last MOPS craft yesterday, so things are starting to wind down for the semester.  Stay tuned for some crafty projects!  I'll do my best to post something today and a few more this week!  Hope the spring has been a good one for you, too!
